The Kammac Recruitment Journey

To help you with your recruitment experience we've outlined some of the key stages so you know exactly what to expect.

Applying for a new job is an exciting time, but we understand the process can be quite daunting. To give you a helping hand on your journey, we've outlined some of the key stages of the process so you know exactly what to expect.

Application

Upon submitting your application including your up-to-date CV via our careers website, you will receive an acknowledgement confirming receipt of this. Remember, your CV will form the basis of our initial suitability screening, so it's important to ensure it's accurate, current, and presented well. It's your first opportunity to showcase yourself!

Shortlisting

If your skills, knowledge and experience match the role requirements, you will be shortlisted and progressed to the next stage. Our Recruiters shortlist on an ongoing basis and as you can imagine, we receive a high volume of applications for our opportunities, therefore, we encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience to avoid any disappointment.

Phone Call

Our Recruitment team will contact you to have an informal discussion detailing the role, your skills, experience and expectations. This is your opportunity to establish that the role, responsibilities and requirements are right for you.

Interview

Our interview process isn't universal and varies between the different roles that we recruit for.

Driver candidates can expect to be invited to attend and undertake a practical theory test, upon passing the theory test, you will then be required to complete a driving assessment with our Driver Trainer.

Warehouse / Office Support candidates can be expected to attend a competency, experience and/or technical skills based face-to-face interview.

On occasions and depending on the role, this could also be a video interview. There are times when a second stage interview is necessary, and a presentation/assessments or online tasks relevant to the role you have applied to may be required, however, we will always keep you updated about the interview requirements throughout your application.

You will have the opportunity to ask any questions about the role or the business throughout and at the end of your interview, therefore you may wish to prepare questions in advance.

Post Interview

Successful Outcome
Our Recruitment team will contact the successful candidate to verbally offer the position. Once a verbal offer has been accepted, this then commences your onboarding process.

Unsuccessful Outcome
If, on this occasion you have not been successful, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible after your interview, providing feedback upon request.

Onboarding & Pre-Employment checks

Upon accepting our offer of employment, you will be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks. These are an essential part of our recruitment process and may consist of all or some of the following:

  • Right to Work within the UK
  • DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service)
  • Proof of Address
  • Appropriate licences and qualifications/certifications relevant to the role
  • Employment references
Our onboarding process is completed online and successful candidates will be required to complete all stages of the onboarding process prior to joining us on your first day.

Welcome to Kammac

Congratulations!

Your first day will be busy, with a company induction, a meet and greet opportunity with your wider team and a Health & Safety Overview.

We look forward to you joining the Kammac family!

CV Tips

Keep your CV simple. Use a standard font, ensure the content is clear, accurate, and up to date. Aim to keep it to two sides of A4.

Tailor your CV to the skills and experience relevant to the role you are applying to. Consider the key requirements of the role and focus on your areas of achievement and previous/current role responsibilities.

Detail your employment history chronologically, with your most recent employment first. Include start and end dates for each period of employment.

Cover any employment gaps with a brief explanation, i.e. travel, study, family break, etc. These are not necessarily a bad thing and may have provided you with other skills relevant to the role!

Interview Tips

Prepare, prepare, prepare!

Research the company, obtaining as much information as possible about the business.

Consider the company's history, mission statement, values and competitors. This demonstrates to the Hiring Manager that you've done your background work.

Body language is as important as the conversation. Be aware of your general body language, eye contact, expressions and posture.

Think carefully about what your interviewer is asking you. Take your time to respond and where appropriate, use the STAR method in competency-based interview:

  • Situation - Describe the situation
  • Task - Outline the task and end goal
  • Action - Explain the measures you took to achieve this
  • Result - Conclude the outcomes of your actions

Ask questions throughout the interview and at the end. This gives you a chance to learn more about the business, the role and ascertain whether the position is right for you.
